Archival Discovery
Workday 09/10/2024

finishing all my tasks the previous day I was craving to do more research so I spent two hours looking through the archives of the Château. This included an extensive collection of books, negatives, newspaper articles, and hand-drawn plans of sculptures, sections, and elevations of different areas of the gardens and the Château

A peak into archives…
I used my research skills to gain a deeper understanding of each space’s purpose, exploring how these areas have changed over time and what might have faded into history. Inspired by these discoveries, I headed back to the office to dive further into my own research and unravel the layers of its past in areas of the Chateau and its gardens
A Continuation of Art History…
The artist also invited me and the team to listen to their previous artistic history and experiences to make us understand visually what kind of work they produce. I found it a wonderful opportunity since we could ask questions about what inspired them, how they work and where they see themselves after the residency. These evenings would repeat every day until all the artists had shared their stories.
