Chapter two: Week 2

First meetings

Workday 04/10/2024

I had a very eventful day today with having my first DPS meeting in the morning and getting introduced to my fellow peers who will be doing this placement year with me. After that, I had an in-depth meeting with the artist understanding their aims and objectives of this residency and how we can help further their creative process and outcomes. This activity really opened my mind to different perspectives of the Château as the Artist explained their first weeks of living there. My photos were also approved to be used on the LNAF Instagram as I am an assigned photographer for the residence and will be preparing the memoir each week.

I had my first online meeting with Natasha, the Château’s president, and it felt like an opportunity to solidify my efforts so far. I walked her through the activities and tasks I’ve been focusing on this week. She assigned me additional design projects in line with my expertise—creating AutoCAD drawings of the entire garden and crafting a more aesthetic, story-like vision for the space.

Time management was crucial today, with numerous meetings and tasks demanding attention. I managed this by setting clear to-do lists and rewarding myself with short breaks after completing each task. Reflecting on it, the balance of structure and self-care felt like a real accomplishment.
