Chapter two: Week 2

The start of week two the unraveling of my journey continues…

Maintaining the Château

Workday 30/09/24

I continued preparing all the resources for the future artist to come which included making sure that all their studios and rooms were at their best shape. Ensuring everyone had the necessary supplies, like canvases and easels, taught me the importance of attention to detail and preparation. I double-checked documents for accuracy and worked to keep the office attentive and organised.

As a side job, I helped select the right lightbulbs and LED lights for the Gothic dining room to create a softer, more inviting glow for the existing watercolour drawings presented there. This involved replacing the harsh bulbs around the room with warm, candle-shaped ones that emit an orange light, maintaining the Château’s medieval atmosphere. This experience challenged me to find modern product solutions that would respect and enhance the space’s historic ambience, teaching me the balance between practicality and preservation
