Chapter Twenty: Week 20

From Vision to Celebration

Workday: 21/03/2025

Friday was the most dynamic and high-stakes day of the week, packed with diverse responsibilities that tested my agility and design intuition. The morning began with a crucial visit to the green flower centres, where I was entrusted with making a significant €1,000 deposit on plants for the Lovers’ Garden renovation. This responsibility weighed heavily on me, as my choices would shape the garden’s beauty for years to come. Knowing the historical importance of the Château and the vision of Henry and Marie Clews, I carefully selected plants based on quality, aesthetic harmony, and longevity. It was a challenge, but one that reinforced my confidence in my ability to make impactful design decisions.

Later in the day, I had the immense honour of being invited by Nelcy and Lauriane to represent the Château at a meeting with a future collaborator a women’s club dedicated to fostering creative careers. This opportunity allowed me to step into a leadership role, engaging in discussions about my design journey and showcasing my work in the office. It was a valuable exercise in storytelling, self-promotion, and professional representation. Sharing how the Château has shaped my perspective as a designer was both empowering and motivating, reinforcing my desire to refine my communication skills and open doors for future opportunities.

The grand finale of the day was the Open Studio, where months of hard work and creativity were unveiled to an audience of 75 guests. The evening was a whirlwind of movement, ensuring smooth transitions between rooms and making sure every artist felt supported and celebrated. The energy was high, and the success of the event was deeply fulfilling not just for the artists, but for the entire team behind the scenes. Seeing the French team revel in the moment, proud of what we had accomplished together, was a powerful reminder of the impact of collaboration and dedication. It was a night of connection, creativity, and a true testament to the magic of the Château.
