Chapter Twenty: Week 20

From Swiss Army Knife to Storyteller

Workday: 20/03/2025

As the last full day leading up to the Open Studio, I found myself fully immersed in design, coordination, and execution. My time at the Château has transformed me into a true Swiss Army knife quick to adapt, eager to learn, and ready to tackle any challenge. The morning began with an efficient meeting to finalize the exhibition layout, ensuring that each artist’s work was displayed in a way that honoured their vision. Understanding their individual needs and curating the space to give their work justice was a responsibility I embraced with care and attention to detail.

Between managing social media content, documenting the artists’ final touches, and refining exhibition details, I also presented my Pecha Kucha online to my DPS cohort.

Condensing such a transformative experience into just three and a half minutes was a challenge, but it was an excellent exercise in refining my storytelling and public speaking skills. I was grateful for the opportunity to share my journey, making my audience not only understand my growth but also feel engaged and entertained by my experiences. Seeing their reactions and hearing their feedback reinforced the importance of clear, impactful communication in design.

To close the day, I collaborated once again with artist Poojan, assisting her with a second round of photography for her website. This time, in a different setting and attire, I embraced the atmosphere of meditation and reflection, allowing myself to become fully immersed in the visual narrative she was creating. This experience, like so many others at the Château, reminded me of the power of design not just as a profession but as a tool for expression, connection, and storytelling.
