A Day of Planting and Problem-Solving at the Château
Workday 11/04/2025
This Friday, I dove back into the gardens, continuing the task of planting the remaining flower beds. The process was physically demanding, requiring constant back-and-forth between checking the plans and ensuring the correct plant composition. As the task was highly collaborative, I communicated in both French and English with the gardeners to ensure we were all aligned, especially when it came to preserving certain plants that we plan to relocate elsewhere in the Château. These kinds of tasks test my ability to juggle multiple languages and perspectives, but they also offer opportunities to strengthen my communication skills and keep the workflow running smoothly.

One of the most important aspects of this job was tracking progress. I took regular logs and photos to document the work, sending updates to the American office to keep them informed. This method proved to be the most efficient way to share our efforts in real-time and showcase our hard work. The task required resilience and precision, as there were moments where I had to adjust on the second like when I realised we didn’t have enough plants for the beds. Quickly ordering the additional plants and ensuring they would arrive before the wedding season was a challenge, but it was also an opportunity for me to problem-solve and demonstrate my ability to adapt under pressure.

To end the day, I received positive news about the chair order I had managed to reduce the cost by 40% and secure a generous discount. This felt like a huge win, as my persistence and proactive approach had paid off. I’m proud of how I handled the challenges and worked diligently to ensure everything moved forward smoothly. Now, I’m excited to see which chairs the president of the Château will choose and how they will transform the space in the near future. It was a fulfilling day, where my hard work, adaptability, and attention to detail all came together.
