Cannes You Believe It? A Day Where Dreams Met Design
Workday: 16/05/2025

This Friday was an absolutely surreal experience one of those rare days where a dream becomes reality in the most unexpected way. I never imagined I’d have the chance to be part of the Cannes Film Festival so early in my career, not just witnessing the glamour of the red carpet but actually stepping behind the scenes to support the artists and help bring the day together. I was granted temporary accreditation to assist at the Casa Cine pitching event, and it quickly became clear that this was no ordinary day. The scale, the pace, the energy it was electrifying, and I felt genuinely grateful to be in the thick of it.

The day started early and moved quickly. My responsibilities included helping to set up the TVs, tables, and catering for the event, and most importantly, making sure the artists felt supported and at ease before their big pitches. The pressure in the room was intense potential investors, producers, and creatives from across the globe filled the space, and everything needed to run like clockwork. It was a real test of adaptability and calm under pressure, and I found myself drawing on every skill I’ve developed so far to stay focused, present and helpful throughout.

Working closely with the French team, I made sure that drinks were restocked, technical needs were met, questions were answered, and everyone involved felt seen and supported. The atmosphere was intense, but together we created a space that allowed each artist to shine. At the end of the day, the entire team was proud of what we’d achieved, and I was especially proud to have played a part in something so meaningful. It felt like the kind of day that could open doors not just for the artists pitching, but for me too, as I continue to explore the worlds of set design, exhibition design and cultural production.
Looking back, I’m filled with gratitude not just for the opportunity, but for the confidence it gave me in what I’m capable of. Being in Cannes, actively contributing to such a high-profile event, reminded me of why I’m so passionate about design and storytelling.

To experience this intersection of art, people and performance at such a young stage in my journey is something I’ll never forget. It’s only made me more determined to keep going to dream bigger, and to keep showing up for the next opportunity.
