Chapter four: Week 4

San Remo and Menton and Video progress

Work day 18/10/2024

feeling better and energised I started off the day with my weekly DPS meeting which was about the GRIT tool kit. It really got me thinking about what success looks like for me now and what I consider strong outcomes for my DPS journey. This session helped me shift my focus beyond just the immediate tasks and goals, encouraging me to consider the long-term benefits and personal growth that I hope to gain along the way.

after that, I continue to cross the border from France to Italy and enter the beautiful San Remo.

Exploring the architecture and atmosphere of San Remo was a remarkable experience, especially with its evident French influence. As I observed the design features, I noted how the elements of style and form echo both Italian and French history. This intersection provides a unique perspective on how borders can shape architectural narratives, revealing the distinctive characteristics of each culture while celebrating their similarities.

This concept was similarly observed on the other side of the border back in France when we visited Menton . Menton had a richer colour palette of warm hues and perhaps a more sophisticated atmosphere but a very similar welcoming feel .

Even though these cities differ greatly from Mandelieu and the Château, they feature their own remarkable ornamentations and landmarks that are preserved with care. This commitment to preservation is essential in today’s society, as it helps us maintain a connection to our history and cultural identity. By valuing and respecting these distinctive features, we not only honour the past but also enrich the experiences of future generations.
