Week Thirty Reflections
Trying to capture it all in a few paragraphs simply wouldn’t do justice to what this chapter has truly been. This wasn’t just an internship; it was a precious gift—a unique period of growth where I was given the opportunity not only to develop my design skills and academic knowledge but also to form deep bonds and a sense of family with so many extraordinary individuals. From early mornings spent collaborating with Nelcy, the inspiring director, to the encouraging guidance of Natasha, the president, and the warm support from the French team, each connection has enriched my journey. Working alongside Pip on the Lovers Garden renovation and sharing creative projects with the artists and children fostered moments of joy, challenge, and immense personal satisfaction.

I have felt the power of community in every workshop, exhibition, and social event, where patience, adaptability, and empathy became as important as any design skill. I know that my story at the Château is far from over. As I approach my third year with renewed confidence and a clearer sense of my identity as a designer, I am determined to nurture these connections and return—hopefully as a permanent designer—ready to contribute meaningfully to this place that feels like a second home. All of this is reflected in the beautiful and well-thought report of my DPS, which was presented with my own designer identity but also honours the timelessness of the Château and the remarkable legacy of Henry and Marie Clews. Together with this incredible team, I look forward to preserving and building upon the rich history of the Château, carrying forward all that I have learned, shared, and cherished.
