Week 10 Reflections
As the Canadian residency came to an end, I felt the familiar mix of emotions—celebration followed by the inevitable sadness of farewells. The Château, once filled with conversation and laughter, now felt empty. Though goodbyes are always tough, I’ve noticed that this time I’m managing the departures with more ease than before. It’s a sign of my growth in emotional resilience.
The emotional bond I’ve developed with both the people and the space has given me a greater appreciation for the community and how important it is to nurture those relationships. At the same time, the emptiness provides an opportunity for reflection and solitude, which allows me to recharge myself socially. As I divert my focus on design-oriented projects, like finalising the office redesign, I realize this period of quiet is perfect for improving my skills and preparing for the next phase of my internship. I look forward to the opportunity to build new connections with the next group of residents and to further develop my skills in the weeks ahead.
