Chapter Fifteen: Week 15

Spreading Mimosa Love

Workday: 13/02/2025

My day unfolded in a familiar rhythm, beginning with morning meetings before returning to the intricate process of painting my mural of blossoms. Working on this large-scale piece has been a test of patience, discipline, and endurance skills I first developed in my fine art studies but am now refining in an entirely new way. The transition from canvas to wall has been both challenging and rewarding, pushing me to think beyond traditional techniques and embrace the physicality of painting at this scale. What excites me most is how site-specific this piece is; it belongs to the Château, shaped by its architecture and the people who move through the space. This realisation makes every detail more meaningful, reinforcing the importance of creating art that resonates within its environment.

Later in the day, I had the honour of contributing to the construction of the Mimosa heart, a captivating installation in the Château’s courtyard.

This collaboration with Mandelieu Tourism was a rare and exciting opportunity to work alongside designers, flourists, and architects individuals whose creative fields intersect with my own in unexpected ways.

While the activity itself felt organic and joyful, it also served as a valuable networking experience, allowing me to build relationships with professionals I hope to collaborate with in the future. These moments of artistic exchange remind me that design is not just about aesthetics, it’s about community, shared vision, and the ability to bring beauty into spaces in ways that feel both intentional and immersive.
