Chapter Fifteen: Week 15

Survey and Blossom Drawings

Workday: 10/02/2025

This week reminded me that design is as much about adaptability as it is about intention. Navigating between the French and American offices, I was constantly shifting between the structured precision of spatial planning and the fluid nature of the artistic expression of my mural.

Natasha’s request for a survey drawing of the boutique renovation challenged me to see beyond the immediate details and consider the larger picture. Measuring, sketching, and refining the space, I realized that the most effective design solutions come from clarity minimising complexity and turning it into something easily understood. Natasha’s positive response to my work led to deeper engagement in more intricate design discussions in the VIlla, Gardens and CHateau

Beyond structured design work, I immersed myself in the slower, more meditative rhythm of painting my mural. Unlike the immediacy of architectural sketches, this process demanded a different kind of discipline one which required patience, endurance and trust in gradual growth. This experience reinforced something essential about my journey as a fine artist and designer. True artistry is not just about the final product but about the devotion to each step along the way. An important lesson to keep in mind.
