A Day of Sowing Seeds and Welcoming Artistic Souls
Workday: 24/02/2025

The start of my week felt both nurturing and familiar, yet filled with new beginnings. I began by quite literally planting seeds, herbs that will be used in the upcoming children’s workshop for my self-initiated project on March 14th. Although I had never grown herbs before, I had immersed myself in research, reading books and watching videos to understand the ideal conditions, germination periods, and proper care. Standing in the middle of Marie’s Garden, surrounded by nature, I found a quiet sense of comfort in the process. As I nurtured these small beginnings, I felt as though nature, in return, was grounding me, preparing me for the weeks ahead with a renewed and positive outlook.
There was something deeply fulfilling about tending to something so delicate and knowing it would soon become part of a larger creative experience. Beyond the physical act of planting, it gave me an intangible sense of responsibility and purpose. It reminded me that growth, both literal and personal, requires patience and care. The solitude of the task allowed for a moment of reflection, a pause before the rhythm of work picked up again.

Later that day, I shifted from solitude to social interaction, welcoming the new international artists-in-residence. The first evening is always a fascinating study in human connection, people observing, adjusting, finding their place. Some are eager to engage, while others take their time. It’s a great exercise in communication, reading the room, and making sure everyone feels at ease. As always, I can’t wait to see their creative journeys unfold and witness the magic that happens when diverse minds come together.
