A Canadian Artist Discussion
Work Day 06/11/2024
Today began with a rich exchange of inspirations, where each artist opened up about what had influenced their work in the residency. Moving around the group, I absorbed new perspectives of Dan’s appreciation for the Château’s pre-modern architecture, Madeleine’s focus on heritage, and Simon’s admiration for the cloisters’ natural forms. Their perspectives encouraged me to revisit these spaces, inviting me to look beyond the surface and think more deeply about the Château’s unique architectural language and its relationship to nature and history.

Feeling especially inspired, I returned to my own design work with a renewed vision, determined to bring my layouts to life. I incorporated realistic details such as paintings, chairs and computers to help my colleagues truly visualize the space I’m envisioning for them. Drawing on sensory elements from my university studies, I aimed to immerse them in the atmosphere, allowing them to imagine the experience of actually being in the redesigned office. This approach helped me bridge the gap between concept and experience, creating a space that feels both alive and inviting.
