Canadian Residence Arrival and Mood boards
Work Day 04/11/2024

I started off this week feeling rested and inspired by my weekend. Having understood the space and the measurements of the office the week before, I started to really apply my transferable skills of mood boarding to visualise the colour pallets and textures I would want to keep and introduce. Applying this process to the office redesign felt like the breakthrough I needed moving me past a creative block and helping me see how different tones and materials might harmonize in the space.
Applying this technique from past projects was a reminder of how versatile design skills can be, especially when we use them to breathe new life into our concepts.
Following the design breakthrough, the arrival of the Canadian artists brought a new wave of energy to the Château. Though all from Canada, each artist introduced a distinctive personality and presence, reminding me just how diverse one country can be. Meeting them called on my soft skills in approachable communication, helping each artist feel welcomed and comfortable ahead of the evening’s cocktail and first dinner with Henry Clews. Adapting my approach to connect with individuals of varying ages, backgrounds, and perspectives is a challenging skill, but one I’m learning to navigate more confidently with each residency.
