Chapter Nineteen: Week 19

Week Nineteen Reflections

This week at the Château has reinforced one key lesson no two days are ever the same, and that’s what makes this experience so transformative. From leading my self-initiated children’s workshop to overseeing the redesign of the Lovers’ Garden, I have been challenged to think critically, adapt quickly, and balance creativity with practical execution. Organising and facilitating community-driven projects has strengthened my ability to communicate, especially in French, while managing large-scale design tasks has pushed me to be more strategic and efficient. The diversity of responsibilities, though demanding, has made me a more agile and resourceful designer, deepening my understanding of sustainable and community-led design. Each task whether planting with children, sketching garden layouts, or collaborating with the team has been a step toward creating a meaningful, lasting impact. This week has been a reminder that great design is not just about form and function but about storytelling, connectivity, and the ability to inspire change.
