Canadian Artists Fieldtrip and Meeting Organisations
Workday 20/11/2024

Although I had previously visited Fondation Maeght in Aix-en-Provence during the Mirabello Artist Residency, this second visit allowed me to rediscover pieces I had missed the first time. It was refreshing to reconnect with artworks that had inspired me previously, but what made this visit truly unique was the different artists and conversations surrounding the art. Unlike my last visit, we explored themes of beauty, gender, and societal reflections through different time periods. This experience highlighted how each visit can offer new perspectives, and I look forward to returning in the future for more intellectual discussions with artists.

Thanks to the thoughtful planning by the French Office, we took a walk to St. Paul de Vence after our visit to Fondation Maeght.
In contrast to the modern art we had just experienced, we enjoyed the peaceful charm of the medieval village, with its beautiful architecture and fountains. This leisurely walk provided a chance to reflect on the art we had seen, while also offering time to socialise, share a meal, and bond as a team. It was a perfect opportunity to grow closer and deepen our connections, both personally and professionally.
