Chapter Eighteen: Week 18

Brushstrokes, Château Visions, and Sunlit Moments

Work day: 07/03/2025

Friday finally arrived, bringing a much-needed sense of reflection and relaxation. I continued my work on the mural, moving through the familiar rhythm of brushstrokes, watching my white flowers slowly spread across the wall. The process remains as meditative as ever, reinforcing my appreciation for the balance between patience and creativity. Each layer adds depth, not just to the mural but also to my experience, reminding me how design, much like nature, thrives in gradual, intentional growth.

Amidst the creative flow, I had a series of constructive meetings with DPS and the French office to organise the submission of my skeleton map and plan for important design meetings next week. Taking the time to strategize and coordinate with the team was essential in managing my workload effectively. By staying proactive and setting clear priorities, I ensured that next week’s responsibilities would feel structured rather than overwhelming. Working alongside such a great team allowed for seamless collaboration, reinforcing the importance of communication and time management in design projects.

To end the day, I stepped outside into the garden, letting the sculptures and landscape compositions of Marie’s hard work unfold before me. Taking in the sun, I felt deeply connected to the natural elements that inspire so much of my work. After such a dynamic and eventful week, this moment of grounding was exactly what I needed a reminder that design isn’t just about creating, but also about observing, reflecting, and appreciating the world around me.
