From Birthday Cheers to Design Choices
Workday 31/03/2025

Today had that unmistakable energy of spring clear skies, sunlight, and a real sense of connection. We celebrated Myriam and Alicia’s birthdays, two people who bring so much to the heart of the château. It reminded me how powerful it is to simply acknowledge the people around you to recognise their value not just in the work they do, but in who they are. It’s these moments that make a team feel more like a community.

Right after the celebrations, I jumped back into the design project I’m working on with Natasha, the president of the château. We’re in the process of selecting chairs that will be used daily by both artists and staff.

It’s about more than just picking furniture it’s about shaping how people experience the space. Balancing comfort, function, and visual coherence on a budget has been a rewarding challenge, and it’s helping me tune into Natasha’s creative vision in a much deeper way. I can already see how this work is building the foundation for future collaborations on larger-scale projects throughout the château.
At the end of the day, a quiet and emotional surprise arrived film photos from my time in the 2024 Canadian residency. Each image pulled me back to those moments of joy and creation with artists from across the globe. It sent a wave of gratefulness through me. It’s moments like this that anchor me in why I chose this path of collaboration, memory, and the joy of shared creativity.
